Since we started aggressively marketing our cloths here in the USA and Internationally a few years ago their popularity has grown exponentially. We’ve been very pleased with the products success. However, along with this success the pirated / counterfeits / fakes or what ever you want to classify them as have started to flood the market. At the end of this article you’ll find photo’s and descriptions of a few of the counterfeits we’ve uncovered to recently.
The majority of these counterfeit sellers can be found on Ebay and Amazon. We want to emphasize that we have no problem with our legitimate cloths being sold on these sites. We do however have issues with them not policing their sellers to assure they’re offering authentic product. Here is an article titled “eBay Counterfeit Products a Problem for Holiday Shoppers“ published by www.TheCounterfeitReport.com . In this article they simply state that “Consumers need to be aware and cautious of the proliferation of counterfeit products offered on eBay and Amazon.” In this article titled “Amazon Marketplace Named Largest Counterfeit Outlet” by CTG (Consumer Good Technology) the average % of counterfeit items in the 5 largest segments is 78%. In our category it’s 74.9%. chance that you’ll receive a counterfeit from the site.
The following photo’s and descriptions are a few of the recent counterfeits we’ve been made aware of but before I list them here are a few facts you need to remember.
Salux has patents in 5 countries. The USA, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Italy and of course Japan.
They are manufactured in Japan and no where else. We have not been notified by Japan of any authorized manufacturers or distributors in China or Korea.
Colors come in 7 standard colors and 2 additional colors for the Super Hard cloth. Here is a picture of the 7 standard colors.
The following are cloths that are not real Salux and shouldn’t be sold in the USA
The above cloths are being sold on ebay. The photos of these have the tops folded over so that you can’t see that they’re made in China. They don’t have the required Federal Trade Commission tag attached which is required by law. The weave is not the same, the material is 100% nylon not 60/40 nylon, polyester Salux cloth. The colors are not Salux colors although the pink is close. This seller is offering 4 colors : Dark blue, brilliant pink, light blue and a brilliant green.
The following photos have been previously posted and should be viewed to get an idea of other counterfeits.
The one on the right is what was shown to be for sale. The one on the left was received.

There is one seller on ebay that we received a complaint about that ships from China and he complained that it smelled terrible. The real salux cloths have no discernible smell. So heads up on that one.
Feel free to respond to us in the comment section if you feel you’ve received a counterfeit cloth.
In closing we just want the buyer to receive the real Salux. There is no comparable exfoliating cloth on the market.
